A second glimpse to the upcoming documentary "Dry stone walls - Sculpting landscapes on the terraces of the Aegean Sea"
In this second teaser of the documentary "Dry stone walls - Sculpting landscapes on the terraces of the Aegean Sea", shots from the 1st Dry-stone School of Andros (06-13/11/2021) are presented, followed by local builders describe the dry-stone technique of some unique buildings of Andros. The trailer concludes with excerpts from life stories of the inhabitants of Andros.
The documentary " Dry stone walls - Sculpting landscapes on the terraces of the Aegean Sea" outlines the timeless relationship of islanders with the Aegean Sea landscape, focusing on the construction and cultivation of terraces, completely intertwined with the life on the islands. It presents the past, present and future of terraces, their cultural and ecological value, with special emphasis on their environmental importance, through their timeless operation as Green Infrastructures, which today are an insurmountable tool for halting the effects of climate change that threaten the Aegean Sea, are presented.
