The events of the second and third day from the 1st Drystone-wall School of Andros Island

With undiminished enthusiasm and efficiency, the 1st Drystone-wall School of Andros Island continued for the second (7/11) and the third (8/11) day.

The morning creative training is done under the guidance of specialized craftsmen, Iraklis Gavras from Korthi and Giannis Papadopoulos from Messaria of Andros, as well as Dimitris Lagos and the architect Eleni Pagratiou from Zagori.

In the afternoon meetings, on the second day of the School, the group had the opportunity to learn about the geography of drystone constructions (Drystone experiences from Zagori / Eleni Pagratiou, Aegean Watermills / Ioulia Papaeftychiou, Drystone constructions in Crete / George Petrakis); on the third day, Ada Akovitsioti-Hameau, Secretary of the International Scientific Society for Dry Stone Interdisciplinary Study, and Giannis Tsiaousis, inspirer and President of the "Flowers of Stone" Association covered with their presentations, the issue of stone culture (Drystone as an intangible cultural heritage and Flowers of Stone: works and days, respectively).

The projects of the School, along with other important drystone buildings of the island, were recorded during the last two days, by the film crew of the Periplus team of Stelios Charalambopoulos, in the frame of the production of a documentary related to the LIFE TERRACESCAPE project.
