Workshop on the information of national and local competent authorities for LIFE TERRACESCAPE project results
An informative workshop - final conference will be held on June 30th, 2022 in the Lecture Hall of the Zoological Museum, of the Biology Department of the NKUA, on the Zografou Campus. The workshop aims at presenting the Project results to competent authorities (Ministry of Environment and Rural Development, Municipalities, etc.).
The project successful results refer to its technical and demonstration component, and this may be seen as be the project legacy, for the future expansion of the approach to other islands (terrace restoration guidelines, selection criteria, Good Practice Guide and the Decision Support Tool for the selection of suitable sites for the further expansion of the project approach in other Aegean islands, educational material). Among the main achievements of the project is the “Drystone-Wall School of Andros”, a training seminar that aims to transfer know-how of the art of drystone to "new" stone artisans. The seminar, was repeated twice within the Project, and the successful drystone schooling is planned to be continued within the after-LIFE.
